Annual General Meeting

The GPAC Annual General Meeting is being scheduled for Sunday, March 16th from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at the Portland Street Superstore in Dartmouth. Besides dicussing general items for the upcoming year, we will also be electing officers.

There are some positions within the Board of Directors that are available for anyone interested in participating in the day to day activities of a society such as this.

Current Board Members that have been nominated for GPAC positions are:

• President - Melissa Ruginski
• Vice President - Angela Seguin
• Director of Operations - Jeanette Reynolds
• Volunteer Coordinator - Cheryl Sinnott

New Board Members are needed for the following positions:

• Marketing (1 nomination received)
• Multimedia (1 nomination received)
• Treasurer (1 nomination received)
• Board Members at large

2008 Doggie Expo and Carnival

When: February 24, 2008

Where: Halifax Forum (multi purpose centre), 2901 Windsor Street

Time: 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Admission: $2 at the door, children under 12 free. BRING YOUR DOG!!!

It's that time of year again! It's our 4th annual Doggie Expo! This year is going to be by far the biggest and best. We're having it at the Halifax Forum, in the large Multi-purpose room. Last
year we had approximately 35 exhibitors and about 1,000 attentees (and their pups!). We're expanding into a larger room this year, giving people more room to move around with their pups, and more exhibitors to see.

For those of you who are not familiar, the Doggie Expo is a tradeshow for locally owned, independant companies that offer dog related products and/or services. Everything from groomers, doggie apparel, and dog trainers will be on hand. It's an awesome event!

What's really exciting is that we're combining the Dog Carnival with the Doggie Expo. That means during the Expo we'll have all kinds of contests for your fur-kids, including the biggest dog, smallest dog, longest tail, and even Canadian Doggie Idol! (a greyhound will definitely be able to give all the other dogs a Roo for their money!).

GPAC Fundraising Raffle

1st prize:

is a beautiful chocolate brown dog bed made by George and Matilda valued at $200.00. The Bed is roughly 3 feet by 3 feet by 5 inches high... this is a solid bed!!!!! Along with the dog bed, a gift certificate from L and N signs (in Yarmouth) valued at $25.00.

2nd prize:

One night's accommodation at the Best Western Mermaid 545 Main Street, Yarmouth, NS Value is $127.68 including taxes. This Coupon is valid May 9, 2008 to June 30, 2008 and October 1, 2008 to May 8, 2009. Also includes a $40 gift certificate for Captain Kelley's Restaurant & Pub.
