Meet & Greets 2008

All Meet & Greets are scheduled from 10am – 4pm except where noted. We are always looking for volunteers to come out and donate a couple of hours of their time to educate the public on these wonderful dogs. A lot of people are not aware that a greyhound adoption program exists in the Atlantic Provinces. The more exposure the dogs get, the better the chances will be of placing more dogs. The malls are a great way to get that exposure. Mall meets are the number one source of new adopters. So if anyone who would like to come out and help, is the information. Many of these are also listed on the Discussion Group Calendar in Yahoo Groups.

Digby Scallop Days

Just wanting to remind you all of the Digby Scallop days booth this coming weekend.

Exit 26 on the 101 ( turn right from Halifax way and left from Yarmouth way)...go straight through one set of lights after the Irving, you'll go past a McDonalds, Canadian tire, sobeys on your left...right after this is another set of lights, go straight, KFC is on your left and Tim Horton's on your right......follow this road down until you come to Water Street on your left and opposite Water Street to your right is Montague Road...this is where our booth is.

Parking will be where ever you can find a spot....you might try the post office on the same road as our booth.
The booth will be open:
Saturday August 9th at 8:30-9:00 am until about 4:30-5 pm...please not the Scallop days Parade will be going on at 2pm....the starting point is by that second set of lights I mentioned so if your planning to come to our booth in the afternoon you'll need to be in town by I'd say 1pm.
Sunday August 10th at 8:30-9:00 am until about 3:00-3:30 pm
Please bring some water and a blanket for your hound/s, plus poop bags :-) I'm not setting times for folks to come, we'll have a couple hounds there through out the day so relief hounds will be welcome at any time to give someone a break. Not sure how the parking will go etc so this way no one is on a time schedule to finding the booth etc...Just come and enjoy yourselves, pick up some gpac cards or pamplets and walk around with your hound/s if you want, take in the many booths along the water front of Digby and hopefully answer lots of questions from potential adopters and anyone who hasn't had the opportunity to meet a Greyhound before... !!! It's going to be a great day I hope....we have a canopy so there will be some shade and rain cover if needed.
http://www.digbyscallopdays.com/vplan/vendorplan.htm wills how you where our booth is located, as well go to the home page and it will direct you to a map of Digby and also places to stay if your interested in taking in the whole weekend...lots of events to watch as well.
If possible could you pop me an email so I know who might be thinking of coming and which day. My home phone is 648-2717 and cell number for the weekend is 740-3409 if anyone needs info.
See you there !!!!!!! Judi
