Annual Spryfield Santa Claus Parade

It's time once again for the Annual Spryfield Santa Claus Parade. The parade is Sunday, November 25, 2007, AT 2:00 PM. The parade will start at Punch Bowl Drive and end at South Centre Mall. Assemble at the starting location by 1:15pm.

Most importantly, make sure your grey is dressed in his/her Christmas best! Put a jacket on your pups, and decorate the jacket with garland, christmas decorations, battery operated lights, etc. Some reindeer ears also go a long way. Just be sure whatever you put on your dog is harmless and will not pose any safety risks. Also, we always bring some candy to hand out to the crowd along the way. So if you have any leftover from Halloween, hold onto it and give it out at the parade. You'll put a smile on lots of kids faces!

Pictou County Lobster Carnival and Parade

Last year for the first time we were in the Pictou Lobster Carnival Mardis Gras Parade. We had about 10 dogs which was a great turn out for our first entry. We are going to participate again this year as it is great advertising for GPAC in an area that we only have a few dogs. It is in the evening so it is nice and cool and is a fairly short route so not really hard on the dogs or you.

Date: July 7th, 2007

Meeting time: 5:45 pm

Location: The marshalling area is at the McCulloch School on Louis street and can be reached via Trans Canada Highway 104, and take exit 22 to TCH 106, The Town of Pictou is 17 km from exit 22. At Pictou Rotary, take first exit on the right.

Apple Blossom Parade

See Pictures from the Apple Blossom Parade!

The Apple Blossom Parade is coming up on June 2nd. We meet up at the
Agricultural Research Center in New Minas and we end the Parade at Memorial
Park by the ball fields in Kentville. The parade route is posted in the
files section of the discussion group for anyone who is new and hasn't been
in the parade before. We have to be at the research center by 9:30am this
year. The rules have gotten a little stricter on that one due to traffic. I
would suggest bringing a nice picnic lunch and some chairs and a blankie for
the pooches. We are usually on the lower lawn so it is a great place for a
picnic. I will be bringing canopies again this year in case of inclement
weather. This parade goes rain or shine so be prepared for all types of
weather. The parade takes about an hour or so to walk but it is very slow
paced and sometimes even comes to a standstill so it isn't too hard on the
people or the dogs. We usually get fed into the parade around 1:30. If you
need any information or are interested in attending, please don't hesitate
to contact anyone on the volunteer committee.
