OUR
KENNEL

Recently, GPAC's home has moved from Lake Echo to West Pepetswick,
Nova Scotia. The new place, as well as being a home to Jeanette,
David, Matthew and their greyhounds, is also home to the GPAC
Kennel. For the first time, we actually have a separate building
to house the greyhounds that come up on Hound Day and that are
still waiting for homes. Up until now, the "kennel"
was a bunch of crates set up hurriedly at the end of Hound Day
in the Reynolds' basement. Now, the kennel building has been insulated,
a new floor has been put down, a supporting wall has been put
up and a fenced-in area has been completed, thanks to the volunteers
who came out to help and to the generous donations of materials
from Kent Building Supplies. The top floor of the building has
had a new floor put down and will contain the GPAC Store. The
store will be open to greyhound owners and the general public
to purchase dog food, collars and other grey't dog and owner supplies.
Donations
for the kennel and the hounds are always appreciated. What
do we need? Used crates, muzzles, leads (leashes) and cleaning
supplies. We are also collecting Canadian Tire money to help us
with the supplies out at the kennel.
For the
kennel and store to be a success, we need everyone's assistance.
We need volunteers to be at the store on weekends. We also need
volunteers to come out and take the dogs out of the kennel, brush
them, play with them and take them for walks. There is also some
work that has to be done in and around the kennel. If you can
help or would like to come out and see the kennel, call (902)
889-2214 for available times the kennel is open:
