Greyhounds that are Available to Adopt

We will have a number of greyhounds available for adoption in the upcoming months. Some of these dogs are available for temporary fostering as well. If you are interested in one of the greyhounds listed below as either an adoptive home or would like to foster, please contact GPAC at (902) 889-2214 for more information or submit an application form for adoption and include the name of the greyhound. As with most non-profit organizations, we depend on the generosity of people such as yourself. In the interest of the Greyhounds, we ask for a minimum donation of $275.00 payable when you receive the dog. This price covers the spaying / neutering, dental scaling, full tick panel test, and vaccinations for the dog and also an adoption kit with a handbook, collar, muzzle, and one bag of food. We also provide full support training and behaviour consultation to help your new family member adapt in their new home.

Why doesn't GPAC post pictures of available greys?

At GPAC, we pride ourselves on profiling a dog's personality to find the best fit between the greyhound and the adopting family. This means that the colour of the dog is not part of the adoption equation. It's been our experience that using pictures on the website sometimes leads to people choosing a dog based on their looks and not their personality. Having the pictures on the website leads to people saying, "I love the white one, I want to adopt that one" - even if it's the wrong dog for them. We want the dog to be a good fit for the adoptive family and profiling the dog based on their personality rather than physical characteristics has allowed us to maintain an extremely high success rate of placing dogs into new homes the very first time ... over 97%! That means that fewer dogs are returned because they weren't a good fit with the family.

It is because we partner and work directly with the farmers, breeders and the tracks that we have unlimited access to a large supply of greyhounds year round.
Please contact us to obtain more information on adopting, post adoption support or volunteering (either of the kennels) with GPAC throughout ATLANTIC CANADA. 902-889-2214
